Background: Fridah comes from a poor family that could not manage
to feed or clothe them adequately. The father was
a drunkard who mistreated the mother and the children.
She first got employed as a housegirl, then left
for the streets to beg for food. She also started
sniffing gum. She used to sleep at home or at her
neighbors’. She started attending the feeding programme in Gakoromone before her admission to the Home in 2000. Fridah is 19 years old.
Education: Fridah is currently
in Class 8 at Mwithumwiru Primary School.
